And the Winner is....

Several weeks ago I asked you to guess the name of the colorway pictured. The correct answer is "Flamingo"! I was inspired by photos like this, and the owner of Yarn Haven's request for a color based on her favorite animal.

Five people guessed right- TeaBird, Avis, Jan, DahBunny and Harriet. I placed all the names in a bowl and randomly drew one out. And the winner of a free skein of Sushi Socks in Flamingo is....DahBunny!! Please contact me at laura@theuniqueshep.com to claim your prize!

Introducing....Autumn Gold

"Autumn Gold" is a brand new lace shawl pattern designed by Janine Le Cras (who also designed the Quatrefoil Shrug). So new, in fact, that it hasn't gone to print yet. We are too excited to keep it a secret any longer, though. So we are offering you the special opportunity to pre-order this beautiful pattern, and the yarn to knit it with. The pattern should be ready around the middle of March and we will have you yarn dyed up and ready to ship as soon as the ink dries on the patterns! Oh and did I tell you my favorite thing about Autumn Gold? It is knit with Tinsel Toes, a fingering weight yarn with amazing sheen, rather than lace weight. So that means I might actually finish it!

Introducing...Coffee Cozie Kits!

I woke up today to a cold, gray, rainy morning. To motivate myself to get out of my warm bed, I promised myself a hot cup of chai from the neighborhood coffee shop. In honor of this yucky day, I'd like to introduce Coffee Cup Cozy Kits! Make them in plain rib, or grab your stitch dictionary and throw in a fancy cable stitch. They make great gifts, and I always keep one in my bag in case I need a caffeine break!

Your Opinion Needed

People have asked us whether we plan to start a sock club. Well, do you think we should? Fill out this short poll and/or leave us a comment. Would you be interested in a Unique Sheep sock club? If so, what would you want it to be like?

Yarn Delivery for Wool Girl!

A HUGE box (I mean HUGE, I fit inside. Seriously. You could box me up and mail me off in it) of yarn is ready to head out to Wool Girl. Prepare yourself for about a dozen brand new, never been seen before colors in Leili, Verve and Foot Prints. This photo only shows a small fragment of the yarn included in this shipment. Now I just need to figure out how to fit this box in my car to get it to the FedEx drop off place....

Coming to a LYS near you...

Yesterday two big boxes of yarn headed out to two yarn shops for their sock clubs. Could one of them be YOUR LYS? I'm not telling...

Contest: Guess This Color Name

This yarn was a special request from a LYS. Isn't it pretty? I dyed up an extra skein of this color in Sushi Socks and will award it to the person who can correctly guess the name of the color. If multiple people guess correctly we will do a random number thingy. Leave your guesses in the "comments". You have until the end of February to make your guesses!

New Project Photos

This past week I finished a sweater jacket using Lamb Loops, Back to Basics and Singularity in Silk in the Mud Puddle colorway. The pattern is by Annie's Sweet Handspun. Of course now we are having spring like weather in February, so its too warm to wear it! More photos can be found here.

I also finally got around to posting photos of the Moebius I knit out of Wild Thing last fall. You can see photos of it worn in three different ways here.

Introducing...

In honor of today being Super Tuesday, I'm proud to introduce our newest colorway: America. The photo here is of Verve but, like all our colorways, it is available in any of our yarns.
