End of the Quarter

The end of June not only signifies the official start of summer for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, but its also the end of the 2nd quarter of the business year. This means taxes and paperwork, but also one fun thing that I always look forward to. At the end of each quarter I determine how many skeins of each yarn we have sold in the Doctors without Borders colorway and calculate how much money we have raised for the organization. The Unique Sheep donates 50% of our income from sales of Doctors without Borders yarn/fiber. That means that if you buy a $20 skein of Verve in the Drs colorway, we donate $10. Basically we cover our expenses and donate everything else. This quarter, we raised a little over $100. And because Doctors without Borders makes efficient use of their funds, over 90% of the money donated will go directly to program services, such as providing health care in places of war and conflict, responding to natural and man-made disasters and fighting epidemics. Thank you to everyone who has included a skein of Doctors without Borders yarn in their order. Every order helps us donate more. And remember, any of our yarn or roving can be ordered in the Doctors without Borders colorway and 50% is donated. So what are you waiting for? Lets try to raise even more this quarter!
