Ruth's Tunic

Now that all my holiday projects are done, I'm ready to cast on something for myself and I think its time for a new sweater! Every since Ruth's Tunic was published in Yarn Forward this fall its been calling my name. So I've decided that if I can get one more thing off the needles I'll let myself cast on. I'm going to use Sashimi since its the yarn the pattern was written for and because its soo soft and light but I don't have a sweater in it yet. But what colorway? It needs to be Gradiance, obviously. I like to wear blues, browns and greens. Maybe Queen Krista or Reflecting Pool? Or something more neutral like Wood Stock? Or a bit bolder with Hurricane Meadow? Its so hard to decide!

If you were going to knit this sweater, which colorway would you pick? Leave a comment with you answer and we'll randomly pick one commenter to win a FREE COPY OF YARN FORWARD, including this pattern!

If I was knitting Ruth's Tunic for me, I'd go for one of these colorways: Illulissat, Dane-ism, Casual Friday, Michigan Morning, Midnight Delight or Heart Burn.

I think all of those would work with my coloring and they seem tame enough to wear to the office if I wanted to. :)

That's a beautiful sweater, but as always it's impossible to decide about your colorways, they're all so lovely.

But, if I'm pushed against a wall I'd say Deep Waters.

DEEP WATERS!!!! Yum!

I'd use Queen Krista or Illulissat. I think Ruth's Tunic would look best with distinct colors in the gradiance yarns.

For some reason, Wood Stock is really striking me. Love it.

I'm really liking Aki, right now. It reminds me a little bit of a chocolate covered cherry!

They are all lovely, but I would have to go with Queen Krista.

Beach Escape is calling to me, but I have to say, if it came time to actually _buy the yarn_ I'd probably go with Erin's Dream. I've been on a warm-color kick lately.

I have to go with Queen Krista. So pretty!

Queen Krista because that's what I almost chose for the Enchanted Wood!

For you Queen Krista. because then you get the contrast of brown and blue/green, similar to the purple/ orange contrast. For me, I'd want the purple and the red, so I'd go for Heart Breaker or Heart Burn. Ummmm actually I'd go for any of the gradiance colors!

Spring Grass, Brew Pub or Queen Krista :)

I'm another vote for Queen Krista. I love the deep tones of that colorway.

Hurricane Meadow! I absolutely adore that colourway :)

You know my choice, since I already ordered Tritiziana, but for you I think Daneism would be flattering.

My favorite kind of question! For myself, I'd likely go with Caribbean or Deep Waters. If I were throwing caution to the wind, though (in other words, ignoring the changes to my coloring wrought by rosacea), I'd take the plunge with Queen Krista or Ascent. Mmmmm...

Cape Cod with a Twist - for sure. Love the browns and purples!

I think Queen Krista. The sweater would be stunning in that colorway!

My first thought was Casual Friday, but if I was in a colourful mood I'd go for Bermuda, because I love that one so much.

So hard to choose though, I understand your dilemma!

All of the colorways are so beautifil it's always so hard to decide on a color. But, if I was to knit this tunic, I think I would pick casual friday or calming gradience.

For me, Queen Krista. But for you I would choose Reflecting Pool or October Breeze. Cheers!

Reflecting Pool would be lovely!
Having chosen, I have to say that ALL of the colorways are STUNNING. Nice to see a wide range for this sweater!

It is a lovely sweater! I think for me, I would choose either Queen Krista or Ember. Or maybe Dane-ism - but then, Deep Waters is really nice also! It would be so hard for me to decide!
